3.1.0: New Features to Play Your Best and Club Reviews

Tangent gets you all the data you could ask for seamlessly while you play. We have brand new features in the new update that make it even better. Bonus: new putter reviews and Stix golf club reviews.

New Features in 3.1.0

Multiple Putts on Apple Watch

This has been a highly requested feature and now you can put in distances for multiple putts right from your Apple Watch when entering score. This is not required, but will increase the accuracy of your putting data, specifically your ability to lag to good distances. Previously the last putt was always assumed to be a ‘gimmie’ (2ft) unless manually changed on the phone.

Elevation back on Phone UI

Now you can see the elevation change in the system with a quick glance at the hole bar at the bottom of your phone.

Improved Targeting when panning the map

Now when you need a distance to a specific target (tree, water, bunker), you can get it just by panning the map. The Target is locked in the middle of the screen and no longer has that annoying lag. You can also long press and drag to move the target directly with your finger.

Leave yourself a note for a hole

Whether you’re playing a tournament or just want to remind yourself of something whenever playing a hole, now you can leave a note in Explore mode that is accessible when you play.

We’re always looking to improve so if you have an idea for a new feature or a feature enhancement, let me know ([email protected])

Looking for a new putter

Power user Keith showed off some new BGT putters that caught my eye. Zero Torque is all the rage and these have a different spin on it. I just might have to check these out.

Previously, he also used his Tangent data to check out the new Spyder ZT putters. If you’re in the market for a new putter, make sure you update your bag to be able to track stats and use comparison mode to see if that new putter actually makes you better on the course.

Using Tangent with Stix Golf Clubs

How good are these affordable clubs?

You may have seen me try out Stix Golf clubs in my simulator after seeing them at the PGA Show. I recently took them to the course to play 9 holes and see what I could shoot. Needless to say, the Perform clubs remained impressive. If you know someone getting back into golf or that needs an affordable upgrade to an older set… I would firmly recommend giving these a try.
